NEW Student Applications

The open application period for the 2014-2015 season has closed (August 31).

Owing to mounting pressure fueled by years of strong growth, it has become necessary for SDMC to shift from an open registration process to a selective application process. This is the third year for this process; accordingly, RETURNING STUDENTS should proceed according to a separate process HERE and new students should continue as explained below.

Like many other aspects of SDMC, application is a family matter. To assist both students and parents in understanding and completing this process, we provide two PowerPoint presentations immediately below that explain rationales behind our application process and the steps that are required to complete it. We recommend that parents especially take a little time to review both of these presentations before beginning.

You may notice that these two PowerPoint links are the only registration-specific links for new students now on the website. This is not an error. Please follow the directions as spelled out in "How to Apply".

In brief, application is now based on the development of a Student Profile (replacing the former registration form), submission of the required liability waiver, providing a student headshot photo (new), and indicating family intentions regarding financial contributions and support through service.

(For your convenience, you may jump directly to the liability waiver HERE)

The new application process not only requires incrementally greater effort on the part of families, it also requires substantially more attention and effort from SDMC. We ask that you be patient and diligent in following directions as closely and completely as possible, as following up on errors and omissions in hundreds of applications is simply impossible.

Thank you!
