SDML I
San Diego Math League I
Middle School Division
High School Division
The San Diego Math League competitions are multiple-choice and short-answer in format. Middle School students may participate in the High School division if they choose, but this is not generally to their advantage. Our 6th grade Fermat students are invited to participate in the Middle School division, but we ask our 5th grade Fermat students take the day off; we have insufficient space to accommodate the entire Fermat group, and we find that most of our 5th grade students are not prepared for the challenge of the Middle School exam.
Owing to limitations on space and materials, participation in the SDML is limited to regular SDMC members and members at large; we ask at large members to sign up so that we can be sure to plan for your participation.
The top ten scorers in each division will receive awards at the end of the morning. Scores for all participants will be posted by ID code on this website later.
SDML scores are the sole qualifying criteria for the San Diego Math Olympiad. The top ten scorers in each division automatically qualify for the SDMO. Some additional students usually qualify as well when the results of the SDML I and SDML II are merged in February.
Parent Volunteers are needed to supevise student check-in and to proctor and grade the exams.
